Alum / Your information

Privacy in plain language.

What Alum collects when you request a detail, why we need it, and which services help us run the website and owner workspace.

The short version

Your request stays about the work.

01 / COLLECT

We collect the contact, vehicle, address, and scheduling details needed to review and complete your request.

02 / USE

We use that information to check the service area, plan the job, confirm a time, and keep service records.

03 / ADDRESS

Google-powered address suggestions are optional. You can type the address yourself.

04 / SELL

We do not sell personal information or use it for behavior-based advertising.

Alum Auto Detailing, called "Alum" in this policy, provides mobile auto detailing around Westerville, Worthington, and nearby Columbus. This policy explains how Alum handles information submitted through the website or sent to us about a request or appointment.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you request a detail, we collect:

  • your name, email address, and phone number;
  • the service or services you request;
  • your vehicle year, make, and model;
  • the service address and ZIP code;
  • your preferred date;
  • your confirmation that the location has a safe area where detailing is permitted; and
  • any optional notes you add about access or vehicle condition.

Records created from your request

We create records for the request, quote, proposed or confirmed appointment, customer, vehicle, and transactional messages. These records let Alum review the work and avoid booking conflicts.

Technical and security records

The website and its hosting, security, and communications services may record your IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp, errors, and security events. Alum uses these operational logs to run the service, diagnose failures, and limit abuse.

2. How we use information

Alum uses the information to:

  • check whether the service address is within the service area;
  • review the requested work, vehicle, location, and price;
  • contact you about the request or appointment;
  • prepare a quote or offer a different appointment time;
  • confirm and manage the appointment;
  • send request, proposal, and booking emails;
  • keep service and communication records; and
  • secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website and CRM.

The request form does not collect payment-card information. Alum does not use information from the form for advertising.

3. Services we use

These services process information only as needed to provide their part of Alum's website and CRM:

  • Vercel hosts the website and may process ordinary request and security logs.
  • Managed database hosting. Our PostgreSQL hosting provider stores customer, vehicle, request, appointment, and message records.
  • Google Firebase Authentication signs approved owners into the private owner workspace. Customers do not need an account to request a detail.
  • Resend sends transactional emails about requests, proposals, and confirmed appointments.
  • Google Maps Platform may provide optional Places address suggestions. If you use suggestions, Google receives the address text you type and your interaction with the list. You can enter the address manually instead.

Google handles information under the Google Privacy Policy. Use of Google Maps features is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.

4. When we share information

Alum shares information with the service providers listed above when they need it to host the site, store records, authenticate an owner, send an email, suggest an address, or diagnose a problem. We may also disclose information when law requires it or when it is needed to protect a customer, Alum, or another person.

Alum does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. How long we keep information

Alum keeps request, appointment, customer, vehicle, communication, security, and audit records while they are needed to provide the service, maintain an accurate history, resolve a dispute, prevent abuse, or meet recordkeeping obligations. Backups may keep a copy for a limited period after a record leaves active use.

When Alum no longer needs information for those purposes, we delete it or remove details that identify the customer.

6. Your choices

  • Enter your service address manually instead of using Google Places.
  • Leave the notes field blank if Alum does not need extra context.
  • Ask Alum to correct information connected to your request.
  • Ask Alum to provide or delete your information, subject to records we must keep to complete a service, prevent misuse, resolve a dispute, or meet legal obligations.

Alum may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

7. Security

Alum limits the owner workspace to approved accounts and uses technical and administrative safeguards for stored information. No website or storage service can promise absolute security. Do not put payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or other sensitive information in the notes field.

8. Children's privacy

Alum's website and services are intended for adults arranging vehicle detailing. Alum does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child submitted information through the website.

9. Changes to this policy

Alum may update this policy when the website, service providers, or data practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
