Interior care

What to expect from an interior detail with stains and pet hair

On this page

If stains or pet hair are the reason you want your car detailed, make them the starting point of the conversation. Tell Alum where the problem is and what result matters most to you.

Alum's Interior Detail includes vacuuming, deep cleaning and carpet shampoo. Heavy stains and pet hair need a discussion about what the package can cover before Andy confirms the appointment. The package name alone is not a promise that every mark or hair will disappear.

Start with the area that bothers you most

Look through the cabin and identify the main concern. Is it a spill on one seat, dirty floor mats, hair across the rear bench, or several areas that need attention?

Describe the location and extent in plain language. For a stain, include what caused it and how long it has been there if you know. For pet hair, say which seats, carpets or cargo areas are affected.

You do not need to diagnose the problem yourself. A useful request could say, "There is dried coffee on the front passenger seat, and the back seat has a lot of dog hair."

What Alum's Interior Detail includes

The $215 Interior Detail includes a full vacuum, deep cleaning of plastics, leather, carpets and glass, air-vent steaming, carpet shampoo, headliner spot treatment and UV protection.

That gives Andy a defined package to work from. Your condition notes help him understand which areas deserve attention and whether your main concern fits the planned work.

If you also want the outside detailed, Complete Detail combines the interior and exterior packages for $340. Choosing the combined package does not create a stronger stain-removal guarantee.

Why Andy may ask for photos

"Heavily stained" can mean something different to each driver. A photo or a short conversation helps Andy understand the affected area and discuss a realistic result with you.

Show the area in context as well as close up if Andy asks for pictures. Mention any previous cleaning attempts and any existing damage or wear that concerns you.

Cleaning and repairing damage are different jobs. If you are unsure whether a mark is dirt, wear or damage, point it out rather than assuming detailing will repair it.

What happens to the price

Alum does not automatically increase its passenger-vehicle package price because of vehicle size or condition. The Interior Detail remains the listed $215 package.

Condition review is about agreeing on what that package can cover. It does not mean unlimited stain or pet-hair removal. If the result you want is outside the package's scope, clarify that with Andy before arranging the work.

A separately selected specialty service keeps its own listed price. It should be a clear choice, rather than a surprise addition to the package.

Prepare for the interior work

Remove personal items and valuables from the areas you want cleaned. Tell Andy which concern comes first if you have several, and make sure the car will be at a safe, permitted location with enough room to work.

Alum brings its own water and generator. You do not need to provide either for the mobile appointment.

Talk through your car's condition

You can book a detail and describe the condition in the request, or call Alum at 614 695 2656 to discuss it first.

Alum serves Westerville, Worthington and nearby Columbus. Andy reviews the vehicle details and confirms the appointment so you know what work you are arranging.
